Mother Nature offers us an abundance of healing plants, many of which grow right outside our back doors. This class will teach you how easy it is to make your own medicine from these plants.
Lesley will introduce you to some plants growing around the Herb Studio, offer guidelines for harvesting, and share how they act to promote health. Using these plants, she will demonstrate how to prepare herbal tinctures and oils. She will also explain how you would use these preparations in caring for yourself and your loved ones.
Herbal medicine has long been considered "the people's medicine" for its accessibility, safety, and the ease with which remedies can be made. This workshop will introduce you to this time honored tradition and empower you to begin taking charge of your health.

Lesley Irene Shore, Ph.D., founder of Harmony Center, has been tending, loving, and working with herbs for over 25 years. She is a counseling psychologist (with over 40 years of 'clinical' experience), organic grower, deep ecologist, and earth steward of Harmony Farm. The author of two books, Lesley has held faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology.

Fee: $33, payable to Harmony Center. As Lesley donates her time to Harmony Center, all proceeds from this class will go towards the care and maintenance of Harmony Center.
