Nature's energy - what the Chinese call Chi- flows in us, and through us. The ancient practice of Tai Chi consists of movements that encourage this energy to flow smoothly, realigning our bodies, our minds, and our souls with Nature.

We're honored that Sutat, a gifted Tai Chi teacher, will travel here to teach this weekend workshop. He will guide us to move from our centers, experience Tai Chi's flowing movements, and develop inner balance. We will connect with nature, opening our hearts, our bodies, our minds, and our souls to the flow of energy - pulling energy up from the earth, down from the sky and into harmony. By the end of the weekend you will have developed a feel for "harmony-in-motion," and have learned a Tai Chi routine that you can take home and use.

Some Tai Chi classes focus on perfecting a detailed choreography. This particular workshop will concentrate on the essence of Tai Chi, what is behind the movements, the experience. Sutat's teaching style benefits both beginning as well as experienced practitioners. His clear instruction, and subtle sense of humor, will enrich and facilitate your learning.

Workshop Leader: Sutat, born James Waddington, has been studying Tai Chi, yoga and meditation, for over 20 years. After spending a decade in Asia, most of that time as an ordained Buddhist monk, he returned to the United States to share what he learned from the masters. He worked at Rancho La Puerta (Mexico) for five years, teaching Tai Chi, meditation, and other mind/body classes. Sutat now teaches from his home in Mill Valley, California, and his yoga advice was recently featured in the May edition of Real Simple Magazine.

Schedule: Each day (Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6) will begin at 10am and end between 3:30 and 4pm. Sutat recommends an extended lunch-time break, allowing time to digest and assimilate the morning's learning.
