Despite geographical separations, indigenous peoples around the world
developed similar spiritual practices. They experienced their lives
as interconnected with nature and the spirit realm.
This workshop will be an introductory exploration of shamanism, the
ancient spiritual tradition that is still practiced today in indigenous
cultures worldwide. Shamans use specific techniques for traveling into
the spirit world and, thereby, accessing information to benefit their
communities, and to be used for healing.
People attending this workshop will learn about the basics of shamanic
practice and the essentials of shamanic healing. You will be guided through
a series of shamanic journeys. These experiences will enable you to connect
with a nature spirit, a spirit guide, and then, literally, 'bring spirit
home'.
Workshop Leader: Edward Yeats, Ph.D is a clinical psychologist
and a shamanic practitioner. In addition to his private practice in
Newton Corner, MA., Ed is a Clinical instructor of Psychology at Harvard
Medical School and co-director of Center of the Circle.
