We invite you to join Cascade Anderson Geller, a
nationally prominent herbalist, to explore the traditional
use of adaptogens. These special plants help our bodies
adapt to the stress of modern life. They enhance energy,
increase emotional hardiness, reduce sugar cravings and protect
against disease. Autumn is the perfect time to build resilience
by taking adaptogens.
On Saturday, (October 15th) Cascade will discuss what
adaptogens do - their multiple healing actions, how to identify
and grow them, harvest and use them. She will pay particular attention
to local adaptogenic herbs such as sassafras, wild sarsaparilla,
bugleweed, and green briar. We will also do a medicinal plant walk.
On Sunday, (October 16th) we will explore in depth the
therapeutic applications of adaptogens. Cascade will share information
on how to formulate these safe, but powerful herbs - what doses to
take, for how long, etc. She will share her expertise on how to use these
plants for more serious chronic diseases.
Cascade, an exciting teacher and clinician, has served on the faculty
of three naturapatic colleges. Born into a family with deep roots in native
herbal traditions she has been using these plants both personally and
professionally for over 30 years and finds that they help support an active,
engaged lifestyle.
