Native People recognize that all of nature is sacred. We exist in a web of
life, with spirit residing all around - in the earth, the rocks, the sky,
the trees, the plants. And life proceeds in spirals, transformational cycles
with- no beginning and no end.
People attending this workshop will learn about Native American ceremonial
ways and experience a deep sense of the sacred. This will be felt and
experienced, not merely learned about cognitively. A series of experiential
exercises will guide you towards knowing, deep inside you, the sacredness
of Grandmother Earth and the inter-relatedness of life. You will learn
heart / intuitive ways of relating stones, trees, animals and each other.
And you will have opportunities to develop meaningful rituals for your life.
Workshop Leader: Grandfather Sings-Alone, a Cherokee healer,
spiritual leader, and storyteller, has been a practicing ceremonialist
for nearly 40 years. Widely respected among the people, Grandfather Sings-Alone
is part of the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee Indians. He founded the
Free Cherokees, an intertribal cultural organization, in the late 80's.
Last summer Spirits told him to teach his spiritual concepts outside the
Native American community.
