Our Earth is a mystical, living, conscious organism, and we are
part of Her. Native Americans call her "Grandmother."
Scientists and spiritual leaders agree that the Grandmother
(Unci Maka) is having trouble (global warming, etc.).
Last summer the Spirits told Grandfather Sings-Alone that he must become a warrior
for Grandmother Earth, and he hopes that you will join him in this
sacred work.
People attending this workshop will learn about the dimensions
and the spirits that inhabit the Earth. We will explore various ways
of entering into a personal relationship with Grandmother. The
more we are one with Her, the more sensitive we will be to Her
needs, and the more She will be able to help us.
We will open our hearts and minds by praying, chanting and
drumming. Among other experiences, participants will work with
using a "medicine object" (stone, crystal, plant, feather or pelt)
as a bridge to the Grandmother.
Grandmother Earth wants to hear our prayers. She needs to
know that we honor our connection to Her. The more spiritual
we become, the more we will be able to help Her - and us.
Grandfather Sings-Alone ( C.W.
Duncan), a Cherokee healer and spiritual teacher, has been a
practicing ceremonialist for nearly 40 years. Widely respected
among the people, Grandfather Sings-Alone is part of the
Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee Indians. He founded
the Free Cherokees, an intertribal cultural organization, in the late 80s.
